Chicken Fillet and Harvest Apple Maple Skillet
ingredients
1 package Maple Leaf Prime® Raised Without Antibiotics Chicken Breast Fillets
1 small honey crisp apple, cored and sliced into wedges
1 small granny smith apple, cored and sliced into wedges
1 small red onion, sliced
1 tbsp (15 mL) canola oil
1 tbsp unsalted country churned butter
3 tbsp organic maple syrup
2 tbsp (30 mL) apple cider vinegar
1 sprig fresh rosemary
2 large sprigs fresh thyme
Salt
Pepper
directions
1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Brown chicken 2 to 3 minutes per side and remove to a plate and keep warm.
2. Add butter to skillet and add apples and onions. Stir frequently until just browning, about 2 to 3 minutes. Return chicken to skillet.
3. Deglaze the pan with apple cider vinegar. Pour in maple syrup and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Place herbs into skillet and cover for about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove lid and stir, chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees and apples should be tender crisp. Dispose herb stems and spoon onto platter. Drizzle sauce over top.
